Key Responsibilities & Duties

• Personal Care: Providing respectful assistance with washing, dressing, toileting, and grooming, always maintaining the dignity and independence of the individual.
• Mobility Support: Safely assisting service users with mobility, using appropriate equipment like hoists or wheelchairs, and accompanying them on appointments or social outings in the local E15 area.
• Medication Assistance: Supporting with the prompt and accurate administration of medication in line with individual care plans and strict organisational policies.
• Companionship & Emotional Support: Building positive, trusting relationships, engaging in conversation, and providing reassurance to combat loneliness and promote mental wellbeing.
• Domestic Tasks: Helping to maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable living environment, which may include light housekeeping, meal preparation, and laundry duties.
• Record Keeping: Accurately updating daily care records, food & fluid charts, and reporting any changes in a service user's condition or concerns to the senior care team immediately.
• Promoting Wellbeing: Encouraging participation in social and recreational activities, both within the care setting and in the wider Stratford and Leyton community.

Essential Requirements & Skills

• Proven Experience or a Passion for Care: Previous experience as a Care Assistant, Support Worker, or Domiciliary Care Worker is highly advantageous. However, a genuine passion for helping others and a willingness to learn are equally valued.
• Excellent Communication: The ability to listen, communicate clearly and compassionately with service users, their families, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Reliability & Compassion: A dependable, punctual, and empathetic nature is non-negotiable. You must be someone who treats others with kindness, respect, and patience.
• Right to Work: Must have the legal right to work in the UK. We can assist with certain documentation as part of our comprehensive recruitment services.
• Flexibility: Willingness to work a variety of shifts, including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and bank holidays, to meet the needs of the service.
• Basic Training: An up-to-date DBS check is required (we can assist with application). Training in Moving & Handling, Safeguarding, and First Aid is beneficial, though we can provide access to necessary training for the right candidate.
