Job Description

As the Warehouse Manager for our client in Edinburgh Park EH12, you will be the operational linchpin, responsible for the entire warehouse facility's day-to-day running. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will oversee receiving, storage, inventory control, order picking, packing, and dispatch for a high-volume distribution centre. Key Responsibilities

• Oversee All Daily Warehouse Operations: Manage the end-to-end flow of goods from receipt to dispatch, ensuring all orders are processed accurately and on time to meet strict customer SLAs. This includes planning workloads, allocating resources, and troubleshooting any bottlenecks in real-time.

• Health, Safety & Compliance: Be the site's designated safety champion. Ensure full compliance with all Health and Safety Executive (HSE) regulations, company policies, and Safe Systems of Work. Conduct regular risk assessments, safety audits, and toolbox talks, and ensure all equipment (including MHE) is maintained and inspected.
• Drive Continuous Improvement & Cost Efficiency: Actively identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, reduce waste, and lower costs. This may involve redesigning layout for better flow, implementing new picking strategies, or negotiating with transport partners. Prepare and manage the warehouse operational budget.

What We're Looking For

• Proven Experience as a Warehouse Manager or Senior Supervisor: A minimum of 3-5 years in a similar leadership role within a fast-paced distribution, logistics, or manufacturing environment. You must have a demonstrable track record of improving KPIs and managing teams of 10+ people.
• Expert Knowledge of Warehouse Processes & Systems: In-depth, practical knowledge of inventory management, picking methodologies (e.g., FIFO, FEFO, batch picking), WMS/ERP systems, and lean warehouse principles. A formal qualification in logistics or supply chain management (e.g., CILT) is highly desirable.
• Strong Leadership & People Management Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to inspire a team, manage conflict, delegate effectively, and train staff. You must be a decisive leader who can make tough calls under pressure.
• Health & Safety Qualification & MHE Awareness: A formal health and safety qualification (e.g., IOSH Managing Safely, NEBOSH General Certificate) is a significant advantage.
