2Application & Finishing

  • Applying primers, undercoats, and topcoats of paint (water-based and oil-based) using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment.
  • Hanging a wide variety of wallpapers, including standard, textured, and vinyl, ensuring seamless pattern matching.
  • Executing specialist finishes such as rag-rolling, stippling, or gloss work to a high standard.

3Planning & Compliance

  • Adhering strictly to all health & safety regulations, including COSHH for handling paints and solvents.
  • Maintaining a clean, tidy, and safe working environment throughout the project lifecycle.

4Client & Team Liaison

  • Ensuring the finished work meets the client's specification and quality expectations.

Frequently Asked Questions (Painter & Decorator Jobs)

The work is highly varied. In the L1 postcode (city centre and commercial district), a significant portion is commercial refurbishment – offices, retail units, hotels, and student accommodation. There is also steady demand for residential repaints in apartment blocks and for landlords preparing properties for new tenants. Some projects involve new-build interior finishing for the ongoing developments in the Baltic Triangle and King's Dock areas. We also place decorators for external work on period properties in the Georgian Quarter.

Yes, you can still apply. While a CSCS card is highly desirable and often required for larger construction sites, not all our clients mandate it—particularly for residential, interior, or smaller refurbishment projects. If you have strong experience but lack the card, we encourage you to apply. We can often place you on suitable non-CSCS sites initially and provide guidance on how to obtain one, which will significantly increase your earning potential and job opportunities on major projects. It's a worthwhile investment for your career.

Our process is designed for speed. For candidates with all their documents (Right to Work, references, CV) ready to go, it is possible to be on site within 48-72 hours of your initial application, assuming a suitable role is available. The most common delay is waiting for reference replies. We specialise in on-demand staffing for immediate needs, so we move quickly. If you're looking for an immediate start, be sure to highlight this when you speak with our consultant.

Absolutely. Many of our temporary placements have the potential to become temp-to-perm opportunities. Clients frequently use a temporary assignment as an extended working interview. If you demonstrate reliability, skill, and a good fit with the team, they may offer you a direct permanent contract. We also advertise dedicated permanent roles. We recommend expressing your interest in permanent work to your consultant so they can prioritise relevant opportunities, similar to how we manage permanent recruitment in other sectors.

Three key things: Local Expertise, Personal Service, and Ethical Practice. We're not a faceless national agency; we understand the Liverpool construction scene intimately. You get a dedicated consultant who builds a relationship with you and advocates for you with clients. We are committed to fair pay, on-time payment, and clear communication. We also support a wide range of roles beyond painting, from general construction staffing to niche positions, giving us a broad network of client contacts to find you the right fit.

Why Choose Recruiting Today?

  • Local Liverpool Focus: We specialise in the L1 postcode and Merseyside, knowing the key employers and sites.
  • Weekly Pay Guaranteed: Get paid reliably every Friday, with no delays or hidden deductions.
  • Dedicated Consultant: A single point of contact who understands your skills and career aims.
  • Safe & Accredited: We only work with reputable clients who maintain high health & safety standards.
