Core Responsibilities & Duties
- Oversee all daily warehouse operations including receiving, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch for a high-volume site in Gateshead NE11. Ensure all KPIs for accuracy, timeliness, and cost are met or exceeded.
- Lead, motivate, and develop a team of warehouse staff, including supervisors, pickers, packers, and warehouse operatives. Essential Skills & Experience Required
- Proven experience (5+ years) in a warehouse management or senior supervisory role within a fast-paced logistics environment, preferably in the Gateshead or wider Tyne and Wear area.
- Demonstrable leadership skills with experience in managing teams of 20+. A strong, fair, and decisive people manager.
- In-depth knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory control principles, and modern picking methodologies.
- An impeccable understanding of UK warehouse health & safety law. A relevant qualification (e.g., IOSH, NEBOSH) is highly desirable.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data to drive decision-making and improve operational performance.
